Terms of use
Last updated: [OWNER: date]. These terms are between you and [OWNER: legal entity name] ("we"). By using SayImpromptu you agree to them.
The service
SayImpromptu turns a screen with a web browser into a teleprompter that you control from your phone or a clicker. No account is needed for the free version.
Free sessions
- A free session lasts up to [OWNER: confirm — currently 15] minutes from when your phone connects. You'll see the time left on your phone, with a warning 2 minutes before the end.
- When the time runs out, the words stop and stay on screen. Reload the TV page to start a new session.
- We may change the free limit. We'll say so on the home page before it changes.
Your scripts
- Your scripts are yours. We claim no rights to them.
- We pass them from your phone to your screen and don't store them (see Privacy).
- You're responsible for what you put on the screen, and for having the right to use it.
Please don't
- Try to take over a screen you don't own, guess session codes, or get around the free time limit by automated means.
- Overload, attack or reverse-engineer the service, or use it to break the law.
We may limit or block use that does these things.
Pro and paid passes (planned — not available yet)
[OWNER: billing terms — prices, renewal, cancellation, refunds, Event Pass length. See docs/BILLING.md. To be written before Pro launches.]
No guarantees
We work hard to keep SayImpromptu reliable, and the TV keeps scrolling even if the internet drops. But it's provided "as is". We can't promise it will always be available, work on every TV, or never have a problem at an important moment. Have a backup plan for anything that really matters (a printed copy is a good one).
[OWNER/lawyer: limitation of liability, governing law and jurisdiction, consumer-law carve-outs.]
Changes
We may update these terms. We'll change the date at the top, and announce big changes on the home page. If you keep using SayImpromptu after that, the new terms apply.
